The Start Of Updates 2026

Anthony Fazio Avatar

Finally an update! I have two games in the “near future” pipeline. Let me talk a bit about each game.

The FPS Game

The first game is an FPS and will likely be the first one to have its own Steam page. You start in a hub world where you can interact with a computer to unlock stuff, select missions, and more. There will be unlockable areas within the hub. You’ll open these using money you earn in missions for secrets and other things. Within the missions you’ll complete objectives and then try to reach an exit, multiplying money and XP earned. The gameplay goes in the direction of a modern boomer shooter with some RPG elements and Roguelike elements.

Missions

The missions themselves have a randomized aspect to them. You load in and have different objectives you must complete in any order, with optional objectives also being offered for more money and experience points. There are multiple locations where the objectives might appear, helping to keep the gameplay fresh and random.

Enemies?

Right… the enemies. The missions have a lot of enemies packed in, with multiple different enemy types with unique attacks to watch out for. By default they’ll be patrolling areas, so you’ll have to decide whether you want to engage or not. I’ll make a post about all of the enemy types in the future.

Run, Panic, Exit!

One of the main hooks is that after you’ve completed all of the objectives in a mission you must reach an exit before the swarm is alerted. This makes every enemy start hunting you after a countdown while you frantically try to leave.

Secrets

There will also be hidden secrets within the missions that you can try to find and figure out solutions to. Good luck!

The Narrative Game

The second game is a narrative board game roguelike. The boards are randomized, so no playthrough should be the exact same. It’s somewhat of a deckbuilder with turn-based battles. Yes, I know there’s a chunk of those, but hopefully mine is unique enough. You acquire ammo cards and other types of cards during a run through the game. You roll different dice and move a figurine across each board. There are many different types of spots you might land on, each with their own event. All while a narrative is being unraveled as you play and do runs. There will also be unlocks you can get.

Boards

As I mentioned, each board is randomized. Right now the idea is to have 4 worlds. Each world will have 3 boards you play through, with a boss at the end of the 3rd board in each world. I have different board designs for each world, and the majority of the nodes on the boards are randomly chosen. I’m hoping all the randomization will help keep the gameplay loop interesting. There are multiple paths along each board and stopping points where you’re guaranteed to land on.

Battles

I wanted to make the battle system unique in some way to help this game stand out. So for battles you transition into a first person view with a magic weapon that fires the cards at enemies. Some enemies move, some have weak points, or other tactics you’ll need to figure out. After winning you get a card choice to add to your deck. Then you go back to the game board to roll your die and continue onward. Lots of tactics to use throughout a run.

Story?

There is a story with an NPC that sits across from you. You’re playing his game that he made. I’ll make future posts talking more about the story.

Dice

You can purchase new dice during your run and they each may affect the game in specific ways or offer different roll possibilities. You do get a default dice that has unlimited uses, but others may be limited!

Cards

Yes you get cards in this roguelike deckbuilder! Imagine that. Many are ammo cards with possible status effects and more. Other cards might affect the player, enemies, or battle in some way. The order you select your ammo cards is the order they’re loaded into your weapon which adds an extra layer of strategy.

The Plan…

I should be able to make new posts more frequently now that most things are out of the way. I’d like to get the Steam pages up for both video games somewhat soon. I’m just trying to fine-tune them and all that so I can have a demo ready.
